Now for the fun part - the inlay

This episode is all about creating and fitting the inlay. Since I decided to deviate from the PWW design and do the inlay in the top, the inlay is even more noticeably, so fine tuning is critical here. The great side-benefit to this is that I glued up enough material for probably 3 or 4 boxes worth of inlay. I suspect a few people might be getting inlaid boxes this holiday season!

I also ran into a little speed bump in this project, since the walnut I chose for the box top had some challenges with tear out due to some figure. Fortunately, my eBay habit paid off, as I had a decent Stanley #4 waiting to be brought back to life as a high angle smoother, which really saved the day in this episode.

Rob,

Great thinking with the back bevel to solve your tear out issue. You must be very happy with how this box has turned out. It looks beautiful.

Rob,

What is your Bliptv (iTunes) Account so I can add it to my iTunes?

Well not really the account, but the RSS Feed for it?

Haven't watched the video yet, been laggin bad, so gonna try and download in iTunes and see if that helps.

Handi, I don't have the show pages syndicated out to iTunes yet. I would either need to pay for blip.tv pro edition, or manually convert all my videos over to Quick Time first. But you can go to my main show page at http://theboisshop.blip.tv and you can download individual episodes in native .wma format from there.

Rob,

That Link will help, You won't need to convert your videos to Quicktime (MOV) For it to be compatible with iTunes.

When you sign up with Blip.tv it kinda gives you a iTune account so to speak. When I upload my Videos to blip.tv, you can do a search on iTunes store, and subscribe to my iTunes, it should convert them auto for you on the free blip.

At least I'm pretty sure of it, I could be wrong, but most of my Videos arn't quicktime I uploaded. i might have to check into it, Anyway, appreciate the link!
